  • Ace – 11 or 1
  • 2 to 9 – Face value in points
  • King, Queen, and Jack – 10 points

Learn the minimum and maximum betting points before starting the game.

Opening the hand:

The hand beings with each player receiving two cards each. These cards are dealt face down. The dealer also receives two cards, one face-up and another face-down. Irrespective of the variation played, the objective is to score higher than the dealer without exceeding a maximum point of 21. If a player goes beyond 21 points, they automatically lose.

Checking for Blackjack:

Before proceeding with the game, you and your dealer will check if you have a blackjack. If so, you will have the winning hand and your bet will win at 3-2 odds.

Similarly, if the dealer’s face-up card is either an ace or a face card, he will check for blackjack by peeking at his face-down card. If the dealer’s face-up card is an ace, the player has the option of buying insurance if the rules of the casino support it.

In the case of a tie, the result is called a ‘push’ and no money changes hands. In some cases, the dealer will offer to pay you money for your blackjack.

Playing the hand:

If neither the player nor the dealer has blackjack online, then you play your hand. In the case of multi-players, the game moves in the clockwise direction, starting from the player’s right.

You may choose a ‘hit’ where the dealer hands you another card or choose to ‘stand’ when you want to quit. At any point in the game, if you have more than 21 points in hand, you are ‘busted’ and you lose immediately. When you are in an advantageous situation, you can choose to double down your bet in exchange for getting exactly one more card.

Ending the hand:

The game ends immediately after all the players have busted. Otherwise, after all the players have finished playing by standing, the dealer reveals their face-down cards. The dealer will then play out his hand. If the dealer’s hand is higher, all your bets will lose.

If he goes over 21 points, then he is busted and all the other player’s bets win.
